Ashley Soulier is an American contemporary artist based in New Jersey. Her paintings explore the psychological dimensions of human relationships, memory, identity, and transformation through expressive figurative imagery and richly layered surfaces. Drawing from psychoanalytic theory and lived experience, Soulier approaches the body as a psychological landscape—one marked by memory, emotion, vulnerability, and transformation. Her work investigates the tension between intimacy and distance, resilience and fragility, inviting viewers into emotionally complex visual narratives.

In addition to her studio practice, Soulier is the founder of Ashley Ella Studio Fine Art Restoration, where she specializes in the conservation and restoration of paintings for museums, private collectors, religious institutions, and historic collections. Her conservation practice has provided an intimate understanding of the material history of painting, profoundly informing her own work and deepening her sensitivity to surface, structure, and the passage of time.

Soulier received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute, concentrating in Drawing, a Master of Fine Arts from Montclair State University, and a Master of Library and Information Science with a concentration in Archives and Preservation. She also completed advanced studies in Anatomical Drawing at Columbia University. Together, these disciplines inform an interdisciplinary practice that bridges contemporary painting, fine art conservation, and archival preservation—examining not only how images are created, but how they endure, accumulate meaning, and preserve cultural memory over time.

Her work has been exhibited throughout the Northeast and in exhibitions across the United States. Soulier maintains a studio at MANA Contemporary in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she continues to develop new bodies of work.
